A cypress tree with buttress.  The buttress serves as an additional anchoring system for the tree.  Trees need this mechanism especially in areas that may be proned to flooding and storms.


Gopher Tortoise.  These animals can live to up to 100 years old.  They live in burroughs that can reach in lengths 12 to 15 feet long.  The gopher tortoise is a federally protected species.  Many other animals also share the burrough with the tortoise, most commonly rattlesnakes.
